We’re thrilled to partner with Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic) and do our part for the environment and the community.
CDS Vic makes it easy to recycle, and provides a 10 cent refund for every eligible drink container returned.
What You Can Do at the Festival:
If you’re celebrating Lunar New Year with us this Sunday, look out for the special CDS Vic-branded bins to help keep the event litter-free and clean.
The best part? Proceeds from refunded containers at this event will be donated to the KARI Foundation supporting Indigenous communities.
- Look for the 10c mark on your drink bottles, cans, and cartons (usually near the barcode) to learn if they are eligible for return.
- Drop your empty containers into the CDS Vic-branded bins at the event.
- Remember, don’t crush your cans – the barcode needs to be readable! But you can keep the lids on.
More Ways to Get Involved:
- Collect your drink containers at home and return them for a refund or donation.
- Collect drink containers at your place of business, café or restaurant and take them for a refund.
- Visit a CDS Vic Reverse Vending Machine, depot, or participating over the counter site to return your empty containers. To find your nearest refund point, visit cdsvic.org.au/locations.
- Keep your refund or donate it to a participating local school, sporting club or community group via the CDS Vic app.
- Collect drink containers and donate them to your local school, sporting club or community group.
With every eligible container, you’re contributing to a cleaner Victoria and a stronger circular economy. Ten cents adds up fast, so start collecting today!
Together, let’s celebrate the Lunar New Year with a cleaner, greener Victoria! Visit cdsvic.org.au to learn more.
