St Albans Stories: Music Education Academy – Nurturing Musical Talent in the Heart of St Albans

For over 17 years, Music Education Academy has been a place where students of all ages discover the joy of music. In Term 3 of 2024, founder Lorenzo Capitanio brought his well-established academy to 344 Main Road West, St Albans, embracing a new chapter in a vibrant and diverse community.

Lorenzo’s musical journey began at the age of 11, when he first picked up a guitar. From that moment, music became an integral part of his life, shaping his path toward becoming an educator, mentor, and advocate for accessible music education. Over the years, his passion evolved into a mission, to bring quality music instruction to as many people as possible. This vision led him to create Music Education Academy, a space where students of all backgrounds and skill levels could learn, grow, and build confidence through music.

At Music Education Academy, Lorenzo and his team offer lessons in piano, keyboard, guitar, violin, and singing, ensuring that students have the opportunity to explore different instruments and find their passion. With programs designed for children as young as 3, beginners, and even advanced students preparing for Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) exams, the academy fosters both skill and a deep appreciation for music.

One of Lorenzo’s proudest achievements is the Mozartini Orchestra, Australia’s youngest children's orchestra, which gives young musicians the chance to collaborate, perform, and experience the magic of making music together. This initiative, widely recognised for its impact, reflects Lorenzo’s belief that music is not just an art form but a way to build confidence, discipline, and community.

Now calling St Albans home, Lorenzo is excited to welcome local families and aspiring musicians into the academy.
